Soil downpipe replacement – experience or recommendations welcome
We are looking to get our soil downpipe replaced to the sewer but have so far found it hard to get quotes from builders or have had very expensive estimates. Does anyone have experience with a similar situation or could they recommend a builder who might be interested in quoting for this work.

did you have any luck with this? i need someone to fix a couple of minor issues with downpipes and soil downpipe. no one seems interested in such a little job!

Hi Sally, yes we got a builder called Colum Meade to do it in the end. His team were very good. I can PM you their number if you want it but ours was quite a big job - we had to get the whole length replaced down to the sewer so it involved digging down 6 feet or so and it was not cheap.
It seems to depend if you want above ground or below ground repairs. Above ground some plumbers will tackle it, below ground you need a builder - at least that's what we found.
