Burglary on Ritches Road

I came home tonight to find that someone with a crowbar managed to get through a sealed sash window with acorn lock plus window bolts, ripping apart the entire bay window frame and magically managed to get a 40 inch TV out a small bay window.  According to the police, who knocked on doors up and down the road, no one saw or heard anything.  But there must have been an almighty noise as the window frame cracked, and there must have been a van or lorry parked outside blocking view of the house - please if you did hear or see anything, let me know.  

We can replace the laptops and TV but the sentimental stuff is irreplaceable -sentimental and worthless I might add. And they went through my knicker drawer, which quite frankly, is disturbing.

On another note if anyone has any recommendations on who to contact to replace an entire Victorian bay window wooden frame, please let me know.

Apparently our hedge is at fault for blocking the view of very secure windows with security lights on either side - so if you pass by tomorrow seeing us ripping out a lovely garden hedge, kindly look at us with pity and walk on by. Please don't let this be in vain, if your house isn't secure then fit decent security measures, and even if it is, like ours was, then hide the things that are valuable to you and back up your data, photos, etc..

One final thing, if someone offers you a worthless 1970s New Zealand green stone necklace in a silver setting owned by my granny, or a Sony Bravia 40HX75 serial number S015710668J for £50, or a small, broken 1960s Rolex, call the cops. We'd really like them back.

Unfortunately they did not steal that hideous cushion my mother-in-law gave me at X-mas. 

Apologies for rambling, but I have not eaten since lunch then did a gym session after work and have only consumed a bottle of wine since.

Police, forensics and the lady on 999 were all lovely. They said SNT will visit tomorrow.

Time to open that second bottle...
