Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hello All

I would like to make other mum's aware of this scheme as I only just found out about it.

Amy's pharmacy in Crouch End are selling "Healthy Start" vitamin drops for babies and vitamin supplements for breast feeding mothers for just 90p and £1.80 respectively (which is very cheap compared to those on the shelves). This is part of an NHS Healthy Start scheme which is currently being piloted apparently.

Amy's pharmacy told me that Med-Chem on Green Lanes should also be selling the vitamins at these cheap prices too.

Med-Chem have never made me aware of these vitamins or that they are taking part in this scheme during any of my hundreds of visits in there with my baby. This is unfortunate because apparently the NHS is making these vitamins available for such a low price as part of a goverment pilot scheme. If enough people buy the Healthy Start vitamins in this pilot then the scheme will be rolled out nation wide according to Amy's pharmacy.

Thanks for the tip. There's some pharmacy scheme you can sign up to as well through your GP for cheap or free vitamins... but I forget what it's called

The vitamins are free if you live in Hackney. There is also a new scheme called pharmacy first...I'm not sure if this is available in Haringey? You can get all kinds of medicine free from the pharmacist without a prescription...teething gel, paracetamol, saline drops etc etc You register with your doctor and get a card which you give to the pharmacist.

Yes, Pharmacy First is the one. I think that's in Haringey too

It's fantastic! It saved me a small fortune when both my children were ill last week.
