Autograf restaurant on West Green Road just shared the picture above on our Facebook page. Has the Banksy been overpainted or just hidden?

Shocking! Although word on the 'street' (Facebook) is that he only painted over the perspex. Can this now be reported to HC as 'graffiti' I wonder? ;)

Yes, that's what it looks like and it's what Autograf have written on our Facebook page. It still doesn't make a lot of sense though. Now which intrepid citizen reporter is going to find out who did and why?

Noooooo.

Ouch!
Some vandal has painted on the Perspex covering. The paint was still fresh at 4.00pm. The building manager of Poundland was stressed and upset and had asked two members of his staff to wash it off. I watched them doing it carefully so that the water did not seep behind the covering.

They were working on it when I left at ~4.15.

So it's coming off again?

Thanks for the update. So who on earth was this guy, I wonder?

They've lost a valuable work if they have. Having photographed a Banksy exhibition I got to see some of the prices that the celebs were paying for them.

Paul.

Shame about that. I hope it's not gone from underneath. There are some street artists living in the area (Dale Grimshaw  Boxhead etc), yet we have Banksy and Shepard Fairey gracing us with their stuff instead. How cool is that? There's a Shep Fairey at Manor House junction, btw.

Tell me more. Who are Dale Grimshaw and Boxhead? Have they done any work locally? Where's the Manor House Fairey?

Wow, really? I think I might know the one you mean but I'm not sure - what does it look like?

Which one do you mean, the Boxhead art?.. the little people have boxes on their heads.
