Hi Sara,

Welcome to London!

Have you thought aout doing some volunteering?  Its a gre3at way to meet new people and practice your English - and you'll be building up your CV at the same time.

HAVCO work with charities in Harringey to help them find volunteers, and if you contact them you can go in and have a chat about volunteering and they can help you find something.  Most opportunities are half a day a week, but they'll have short term and one off opportunities as well as well:

Thank you, Betty.

I would like to do some volunteering, in Spain I was voluntier. The last Saturday I took information from this organisation in the Lordship Rec Community Festival. I think that I'm going to visit them this week

Thank you!

Hi Sara

There are lots of English language schools in London, personally I can recommend International House in Covent Garden.  If you can't afford to pay for classes you can pay £1 and get classes from their trainee teachers.

Thank you, Takaokagienjin!

I will check it!

It's worth checking with your local library for any local language classes. There's one on Cissbury Road, just off St Ann's Road, near it's junction with Hermitage Road, or there's the wonderful Stroud Green & Harringay Library just the other side of Harringay (not Harringay Green Lanes) railway station.

I asked in Wood Green Library and I'm in a waiting list for a ESOL course in October, but I want to find other class in case if finally there will be not vacancies.

Anyway I'm going to ask in the library that you told me.

Thank you very much, Hugh!

There are free English classes every Monday evening at 7.30 - 9.30pm in the hall attached to the Gospel Centre at the north end of Wightman Road opposite the mosque.

Also St Giles school

offer full-time courses ( probably quite expensive ) but used to do free sessions to give learner teachers practice.

Thank you, John! Now I will see!

Hi Sara,

I am a newly qualified English (TEFL) teacher and would be happy to offer some 1-2-1 classes. I trained at International House in Covent Garden and would really like to start teaching before I forget my newly learnt skills. I also speak some Spanish so maybe we could do a language exchange?

It's great, Caroline!
Yesterday I thought that it would be good idea to do language exchange in the neighbourhood, because my problem is speak and that the schools are expensive and I still I don't have a job. My idea is, when I improve my English, try to work as a Spanish teacher! While I'm looking for a job as a babysitter. If you want it we can meet for speak about this, perhaps we could have an hour in Spanish and other hour in English. My email is pwcapuck@gmail.com ;)

 some 1-2-1 classes ???

Oh yes, English as a foreign language, not sums.
