TALK – THE HISTORY OF HARRINGAY GREEN LANES STATION AND THE BARKING TO GOSPEL OAK LINE
A fascinating event for anyone interested in railway or local history. There has been a train station at Green Lanes for over 130 years and the line of which it is a part is even older still. The history of the origins and growth of the Barking to Gospel Oak line provides a fascinating insight into the development of north London.
- Come and hear eminent railway historian and author, Jim Connor, talk about the history of the line and the stations along its route.
- Learn about the now-closed stations and railway links in the area.
- Includes a fascinating display of photographs, showing the stations as they were in earlier times and as they are now, as well as old maps of the Railway Fields site.
- A chance to look over the modern Railway Fields and discover the original buffers in the midst of this beautiful conservation area.

Can we circulate to BGOLUG supporters? We are meeting LOROL on 17 October as well as I am pushing to get GO-B and NLL late evening service restructured, 20 mins base service from 21.00, not 30 mins from 22.00 as now.

Yes, sorry, I've just realised my mistake! I must need reading glasses! Hope talk is on though, Jim Connor has written two books on the Tottenham & Hamstead Line (proper name), "The Tottenham Joint Lines" and "St. Pancras to Barking".
