I've only just moved to Harringay so I cant really tell how bad it was when this was originally posted. However I am surprised as to how much of a problem poo is on the passage. It must be the work of many, many local dogs rather than just one or two and its odd that there are so many owners that are happy to leave it there; surely they must be tiptoeing over it like the rest of us every day.
The other day I reached a point in the passage where there was so much of it I actually had to lift my sons pram and carry it to safety. I want to throw my shoes away every day but feel this is probably excessive. Is July / August just peak season or is it like this all year round?
I often walk up and down the passage pushing a baby to sleep in a buggy and just the other day doing that i was thinking how clean the passage is these days! And Ducketts Common too with all the litter getting cleaned up. I was wondering if the street cleaners must be making a special effort or something.
Woke up this morning and found a poo in my front garden. I think the dogs are fighting back; at least... I hope its the dogs!
I do like this area v much but it is on the pooey side.
Fox?
Yes and sometimes the pissing men in this hood have been (just about) stopped from crapping in our front yard. That's the danger of having a nice thick layer of mulch there.
The passage is one thing - though at least has dog mess bins at regular intervals. I have a dog myself and always carry bags with me, but on my school run walk which took me along Wightman Road daily, myself and my kids on their scooters would have to run the gauntlet of dog crap the entire length of the road.
It was after several weeks of this that I noted - and am in no way condoning people who don't clear up - but, between Hewitt Road and the bridge at the station, there is not one single dog mess bin along that stretch.
I wrote to the council about this to no avail. My comparison, I think the problem in the passage is far less worse.
