Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Have you heard of Mayer Hillman (independent thinker)

Something from my archives that you may find interesting

Quote from Hillman

"So often, ideas are rejected on the grounds that they are not perfect

in all respects, in favour of the status quo, which is far more

imperfect."

This article contains ideas on social and enviromental development, safety and freedom for our children and more. Last read it in 2003 but still relevant. Enjoy and share your feedback.

Many, many thanks for linking to this article. I am embarrassed and ashamed that I hadn't heard of him and read his stuff.

Anyone got a recommended reading/video/audio list?

I think one of my first postings on HoL mentioned him. Bog Ruggles was complaining about the cost of raised intersections, which I believe were one of his ideas. They save lives. Top bloke.

Where would we be for radical thinkers if it wasn't for Lithuanian pogroms and Nazi persecution?

On the other hand, if Ralph (Adolphe) Miliband had been as religiously orthodox and oppressively authoritarian

as Hillman pere, might not David & Ed be as radically challenging of the status quo as Meyer & Ellis ?
