Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

We've had no electricity since noon, Lausanne rd, it's getting a little tedious now. Easing stuck in machine, freezer thawing. Does anyone know anything. Getting too dark to read.

A power company van is at the top of lausanne / Wightman. They have been working all afternoon. Suggest you walk up and ask them what's going on.

They are still (midnight ) working down a hole.

Now  ( 6 am) digging holes at the top of Hampden Road. Doesn't look good for traffic on Wightman this morning.

So frustrated. Cant shower, going to have to throw away all our home cooked food from the fridge and freezer, and I can't work as I can't turn on my desktop, can't charge my laptop and I have a deadline looming. I don't know what to do.
Apparently a swan's nest is to blame, and then a further two faults. Now the cable is wet and obviously they can't put power through that. The power company will keep me informed by telephone and text provided my charge lasts!

You're welcome if you want to come round here ( Junction Wightman and hampden ) and charge your things.

Give you a cup of tea as well

That's so kind and neighbourly of you. I'll see how I get along. Much appreciated!

We're back on the grid nearly 24 hours later - hooray! For anyone else affected the power company tell me that we will receive £54 as a gesture of goodwill. Spose we needed to defrost the freezer anyway. Thanks for your kind offer John D,  all devices now happily charging away and gas. Amazing how debilitating a power outage is.

Is it mere coincidence that they had to cut and splice the feed at the very point where the flood water was running down ?

Suggest you get the chargers running next time we have a period of heavy rain
