Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

The Moors Bar is launching Pub Theatre nights during the Crouch End Festival in just a week's time.

The busy Moors Bar on Park Road, Crouch End has been more than just a bar since it opened at the end of 2008. It hosts monthly short film (Feast on Film) and environmental film nights (Green on the Screen) and runs music nights such as a Thursday Blues Jams and Three song events.

Moor's new project is close to the heart of owner Andy James. As an actor himself, he's become keenly aware of the lack of affordable spaces for small talented theatre groups to showcase their work. "I want to create a decent space that offers these talented guys a place to perform and at the every worst to break even".

The stage wil be used by both Moors' own company and other small groups who come forward.

The 35 seat theatre will hold it's first performances during the Crouch End Festival. Moors is hosting three plays:

  • For children there will be Little Red Riding Hood at 11.00 to 12.00 on both Saturdays of the Festival (5th and 12th).
  • On Tuesday 8th from 8.00 to 9.30 is Mannequin, a brand new one man horror show.
  • And on from 7.30 to 9.30 on 13 - 15th, Andy is launching his own group's production, Comedy Streeta fast paced, quirky show, mixing stand-up comedy, sketches and monologue.

A great place to go along and watch, but  if you fancy booking the stage, the price is just £120 per night including an in house technician.

The next Green on the Screen night, about the local co-housing movement, is this Wednesday.
