The survey is quite detailed but you can have a break and come back to it as long as you don't close the web page.
Please forward this to your friends, colleagues, housemates and anyone else you think may be interested in taking part!
The project has full ethical approval and consists of an online survey. Here are some more formal details:
In women eating disorder symptoms have been linked to negative beliefs about the self, and negative perceptions of the parenting they received as children. Research indicates that negative parenting may lead to the development of eating disorder symptoms through specific patterns of thoughts and behaviours related to shame and mistrust.
Eating disorders have typically been thought to be associated more with women than with men. Increasingly it is recognised that men also suffer from eating disorders. The current project aims to investigate what relationships exist between perceived parenting, patterns of thoughts and behaviours, and eating disorder symptoms in a community sample of men.
Understanding how eating disorder symptoms develop in a community sample of men will help to highlight similarities and differences in the development of these disorders in men, relative to women. Findings may also help to inform the development of more targeted treatments for men.

What a fantastic project. Will definitely share. I have a very dear friend with an eating disorder for which he gets no help at all. Please convey my thanks to your friend who is doing this work. It is much needed :)
when is the deadline for this?
Thank you Claudia and Andrew for your replies.
I am not sure when the deadline is but I will find out. I imagine not for another few weeks. He needs to recruit about 300 men to participate so it may be open for a while as I know recruitment has been tough for him! If people who have taken part are interested, I can post a summary of the findings, which will be in a few months.
Hi Sally, please could you also send on more detail about who is doing this research. I've had requests because for this because people not wanting to give this info without knowing more. Can you say which department, college, faculty, etc. maybe name of researcher? This person will probably have a page on the college or faculty website - the link to that would be helpful. Thanks :)
