Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Barking dog...
Hello
Does anyone else hear a dog barking between 3-4am sporadically - to - frequently somewhere in the gardens between Seymour Road and Hewitt Road?
Does anyone know who's dog it is?
Does anyone know how to find out which house a barking dog at 3-4am comes from?
It does seem a bit weird that a dog owner would choose to ignore their dog barking quite so loudly and endlessly (last night it was for about 50minutes non-stop; previous occasions its been as long) at such a grim time of night.
Any inkling as to who's it may be please please can you ask them politely to bring their dog in at night?

it could be an animal cruelty issue. try the dog warden if he's still got a job and the RSPCA.

he's the councils dog warden but as i said he may have been made redundant in the cuts. Call the council and find out. good luck

From bitter experience, neither the noise people or the RSPCA will do anything unless you know which garden the dog is in

I've been meaning to post about this too, I'm worried about the poor creature. There's barking for hours nearly every evening, not a good sign. I have been trying to work out where it's coming from, sounds like a few houses up from the Passage to me. I think it's on Warham. I'd try the RSPCA if I were you, something's definitely not quite right here. Let us know what you find out, and pm me if you think I can help.

No need to worry, Ms Clare and Ms Anette. The eerie barking disturbing your dreams in the grim hours is from the large mastiff watchdog at Harringay House. As you may know, the late Mr Chapman's Estate has put the House up to Auction and, while a Mr Alexander has expressed an interest in purchasing it by Private Treaty, Harringay House stands vacant pro tem. The dog, missing his late Master and sometimes disturbed by groups of sturdy beggars living rough in Harringay Park, is keeping watch on the Property.

I'm not sure how to answer this - thank you for the information. I'm not sure where Harringay House is.
It's sad and undestandable that Mr Chapmans dog is missing him - and wants to protect his property. But it's also a bit strange that it's allowed to bark and bark and bark through the dark hours of the night. Whoever is currently looking after the "large Mastiff watchdog" (in itself that sounds a bit eerie and dangerous - am sure its incredibly effective at its job as guard dog) - this is still pretty antisocial and can be heard by many people in the vicinity.
Perhaps the owners / those currently in charge of the property could invest in a burglar alarm and security light instead of locals feeling like their only option to peaceful sleep is to move to Devon?
If you do know who is looking after the poor sad dog, perhaps you could pass on that it is a little on the antisocial side to be barking for hours regularly in the middle of the night. This would be much appreciated. Thanks. (Where is Harringay House?)
