Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Mattison Rd Winter Festival 10/11 December 2011
The Green Lanes Traders are arranging a winter festival in the lower half of Mattison Rd for the 10th and 11th december 2011.
The plans are developing and should include a synthetic ice skating rink in the playground of South Harringay Junior School, market stalls in the road and other attractions.
As I get more detailed information i will update you
Should be a good event especially if it stays dry or even snows!!

I suppose there's a local councillor that lives on Mattison. It's probably easy enough to close off because it doesn't get as much traffic as the other roads.

You objecting to their winter festival on the grounds of impact on traffic then? I imagine it'd make a nice change not to have cars the road for a couple of days..

Yes if the shopkeepers want to have a party, how come they can close off one of our streets to do it?
Ice rink in SHJS playground? Oh now I'm rolling around on the floor laughing, that playground has a bigger slope than Lord's.
Seeing as they're traders, will they be selling rides in their Ferraris to raise money for the PSA?

Maybe they could put a ski jump platform up and take advantage of that slope... Might liven things up... Or taboganning

well as a mattison road resident I think its a fantastic idea, and anything to get those noisy enviromentally unfriendly vehicles off the road for a couple of days, Im sure for 2days they can pollute somewhere else- give me screaming kids going arse over on the ice rink any day-
infact anything has got to be better than the christian crowd who have decided to use the school as their fair ground for the last week-have to get the noise pollution team out to them but thats another point

Think this would be a fantastic idea. Harringay stopped celebrating Christmas years ago something like this would be so good and fun, a nice Santa,s grotto would definitely make the sprit of Christmas.
