Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Ex-Harringay councillor loses fight to be London mayoral candidate

Ladder resident and ex-councillor Brain Hayley used to serve as a Labour councillor for St Ann's ward. After failing to secure a reselction from the Tottenham Labour Party for the 2010 local elections, Hayley crossed the floor and unsuccessfully stood as a Lib Dem Candidate for the ward.

It was announced in July that Haley was seeking the Lib Dem nomination to stand for London Mayor.

New last week confirmed however that Brian Paddick has secured the nomination, securing 1,289 votes. Brian Haley came third out of the four candidates with 316 votes.

Paddick made clear he intends to use the mayoral campaign to speak up against government policies where his Lib Dem colleagues in government cannot.

The Journal reported that Brian Haley  "is now considering his next political move, but his supporters see the result as a boost for ethnic minority politicians in the party".

I'm sure if Brian were to apply to Veolia they could find him a part-time post as Recycling Warden to discourage the overloading of rubbish into wheelie bins along Wightman Road. It is a bleeding shame and disgrace to see this friendly Green Giant of such talent and ambition going to Waste.
