Mark Duggan Funeral information
KEY MESSAGE
Commander Mak Chishty, who has responsibility for the area of North London, has met with the parents and family of Mark Duggan and discussed the policing arrangements for the funeral on Friday 9 September 2011 in Tottenham.
In line with the family’s wishes, the policing in Tottenham will reflect the family’s desire for a local, peaceful and dignified funeral.
We have met with community and business representatives and listened to their concerns and to provide reassurance additional officers will be providing a very visible presence across London

Particularly for those of us with kids of secondary school age who need to get themselves safely to and from school with no aggro, some details of timings and routes would be very helpful.

If the family mean what they say they would do this in unmarked cars and no publicity. In fact they would have done it already.

@ h4k Against my better judgement, from the Haringey Indy:
His funeral will be held at the New Testament Church of God, in Arcadian Garden, Wood Green, on Friday, September 9.
The funeral cortege will leave Mr Duggan's parents house at 10am, travelling through Broadwater Farm Estate to the church for a service at 11am.
He will be buried at Wood Green Cemetery, in Wolves Lane, before a reception at Broadwater Farm Community Centre later that day.
I can already picture bruvs respectfully lining the route.

Pamish, Mark Duggan's family have every right to hold a family funeral as they see fit, in this case with the support of the local police. They don't need snide little remarks about the nature of the cortege. The Duggan family were not responsible for the Tottenham, London, Manchester, Birmingham or other recent events which may have disturbed your peace & justice-loving life.

Nothing, I hope: I live on that road. It's going to be very busy, clearly; Haringey Council informed residents last night/today that parking restrictions will be implemented all day and any cars left parked on a certain section of the road (which is mainly residential) will be forcibly removed.
