Mobile Coverage map in HoL area
The BBC have just released the results of their survey on mobile phone coverage in the UK based on what people who use Android phones actually detect.
Here is the map for the HoL area : Note this is for ALL providers.
Interesting that it is not uniform over our small region - but it must also, I guess, say something about the phones people choose (e.g. I dont use android).

Who provides the best coverage on the ladder?
Looks like tmobile (picture on left).
or of course they could be the company that supplies most android phones though.

The coverage between Finsbury Park and Harringay Station for O2 users is non-existent. I think we need a nice fat cellphone mast on top of Stroud Green Library.

I've never had any trouble locally on T-Mobile. The only local-ish phone issue I'm aware of is to do with O2 though: for years there was a huge O2 deadzone from the top end of Upper Street to Highbury Corner, and it was flaky all around there, not sure if it's still the case. I knew a lot of p*ssed off iPhone users in Islington who simply couldn't take calls from home/work.
O2 even readily admitted to this in their Upper Street shop. I didn't know it extended as far as FP and Harringay!

Interesting. Vodaphone coverage is particularly bad in the ladder area - we've had to get a special gizmo so we can boost the signal in our own house!! If I was starting from scratch with my choice of provider I'd not go with them. On writing this am wondering why I stay! The BBC study doesn't really confirm this - if you look at the Vodaphone coverage round here it just says they don't have any data (I'll try not to read anything into this).
My work phone is 02 and I rarely ever have problems in this part of London (but I dont use it as much, so am not contradicting John's point re coverage).
