Poison.
That is just plain nasty but I'm not surprised

I think it is showing the irony that the characters in the cartoon will experience more oppressive policing in future as a result of their actions. I can't see the problem with it (the cartoon) myself but ready to be enlightened!

I couldn't disagree more with Gillian. We shouldn't forget here that this is the Daily Mail - generally a vicious right wing rag. It's evident to me that the Mail is suggesting young people in Tottenham (or anywhere else for that matter) will be happy for the contination of 'oppesive policing' so they have an 'excuse' to continue looting! I know someone who, along with her 3yr old daughter, very nearly perished on the 3rd floor of that building and I can't say how angry this neanderthal reporting makes me.

That is another way to interpret it. I admit I don't know for sure the point that is being made. And obviously people in this area are likely to feel sensitive about this. But - whatever it's saying, I don't think the cartoon tries to make light of the incident - the background is a very violent image showing the seriousness and terror of what happened there.
