Some good news!
The council parks department has opened up the paddling pool in Bruce Castle Park!
I popped in one lunchtime last week and was heartened to find they had filled the pool and kids were merrily splashing around. It is a tonic for families on hot summer days, particularly as the local swimming pool often is full by lunchtime (and is expensive for families too).
Not sure about the Lordship Rec pool; when I was last there it looked in a pretty decrepit state. Anyone got any news?

was told lordship rec not opening this summer due to renos the filtration system had been taken out. ive not seen it open yet.
