Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Just heard from a friend on Facebook that Palmers Green, Southgate, Winchmore Hill and Cockfosters are apparently likely to be targeted again. Shops, local businesses and banks in the area have been told to close early by the police and they want people out of the areas by 4pm! Not sure how true this is, but my friend's husband asked at the bank and was told they were all under advice to close. Apparently 21 on the Green was targeted today during daylight hours.

Sorry, guys, but it looks like we need to prepare for another night of madness.

Right BBL. Maybe Paulie could take on the Brian Faulkner role.
Is this a joke?
No, Paulie.

BBL: I'm not wishing for this and I doubt that others for whom this has crossed their mind, would also wish for this. I wish that the need for such a step will recede, but it would be foolish for the authorities not to have contingency plans – in case things deteriorate ... further - the key word is "current" (problems) – I wish these will not worsen.

I am careful what I wish for. Amongst other things, I wish for help for an Asian shopkeeper in Hackney who described on R4 how his convenience store was ransacked, destroying 10 years of his life. He was distraught.

I hope and wish that the 16,000 police out tonight will be enough to quell this crime wave and to end the misery for law abiding people.

Cameron has cut short his holiday to return to chair a Cobra meeting re these riots.

Trouble moves to Birmingham

My thoughts are with you all.  Grew up in Harringay, now living in the States.  My brother lives in Enfield, and I cannot believe what I am seeing and hearing.  I know we "Police" differently here in the States, at times, not for the better, but honestly, I think the police should be allowed to bring more force against the rioters.  Hooligans and thugs is all that I have seen on the streets.  Stay safe...that British "grit" will prevail.
