Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Grey smoke due North East. Enfield?
Hi all. Do we know if the plume of smoke that 's been going skyward since about 9.45 this morning is still the Enfield/Sony fire? I know this sounds ridiculous but I am stuck in my office in the West End totally freaking out about it as it's in the direction of home and my cats are locked in at the house. Can't stop thinking about it :( funny how these things get you eh?

Hi Abi, I can see the smoke from my top floor. It's quite far from Harringay, north East of here - where do you live - I assume you are quite local?

My house is in South Tottenham - we have effectively zero shops, so it's actually been quieter than I've ever known it this past few days!
I'm currently in an office on a 9th floor, so getting the scale of this can be difficult...

don't worry, the smoke is definitely NOT in South Tottenham. Far more north than that. I can't tell exactly where and my knowledge of that area isn't good enough but I would not worry about your cats!

It's not crazy at all. Attacks by mobs on so many parts of our city have made us all feel unsettled and it's not irrational to be worried by it. But these are minorities, the authorities will be cracking down, and the chances of anything happening to your home or your pets are still vanishingly small.

Yes, the news says it is the Sony dist. centre. Can see it from Wembley and the London Eye.

Hello Abi
Yes, I'm in North Enfield (nr Lancaster Road EN2). It's the Sony Warehouse on Innova Park, next to the Premier Inn and Oasis Academy. Only the Sony place is affected although there was some associated bother with the looters beating up a hotel worker too. Nice place, eh? I'm sure your place will be okay.
