Article from The Guardian 29th July, predicting trouble.

When I read this in the paper, it was followed by an article on the conditions in Battersea Dogs Home - luxury kennels with plenty of personal attention. At the end of the article the author commented " Imagine what our society would be like if we treated people as well as this. " Fair point.

Or is this just the 'Big Society' taking over from those 'nanny state' youth clubs. Young people are now free to organise their own activities, free from the dead hand of bureaucracy.

 

Maybe government does have a role?

Thanks, Maddy, for re-publishing this. There are a few members on this site who, rather than posting more predictable stuff (again and again), should sit down quietly for a close reading of the piece and listen to the guys on the video.
