Daily Telegraph has reported on council credit card spend with some truely spectacular luxury spending from some. Trips abroad being a classic one. Link
You'll be surprised to hear that our very own Haringey Council has not provided data for the FOI request, so we can only speculate ... whether they have something to hide
I had a same-day reply to my queries from Mr Crompton - gotta give him credit for that :-)
Without wishing to quote a personal mail verbatim, he says they have the data and they do monitor purchase-card expenditure but it's easier and more cost-effective to get the bank to sort out the reply to the FOI request.
John/Alan,
I previously pointed out that Haringey already publishes this GPC data over £500 on their website: http://www.harringayonline.com/forum/topics/council-credit-card-spe...
All public bodies have a data publication policy with the intention to put frequently asked for information on their website (within certain criteria), may I ask everyone on here to save both your, and any public bodies time and effort, by checking their website before writing to ask questions. Whenever requests for information already available are received its normal practice to just direct people to the website.
Raj Patel sent Haringey a Freedom of Information (F.o.I) request on this topic, using the WhatDoTheyKnow website. Haringey have supplied part of the answer here. (With more to come.)
