Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Reminder that tonight Bob Dylan is in Harringay playing his only UK gig at Finsbury Park. Sure to hear his sounds wafting over the ladder rooftops.

Btw, Haringey council refused him the Freedom of the Borough honour after an application from Haringey Trades Council was turned down. Aung San Suu Kyi has just received one from Newcastle. Looks like these councils have different criteria.

I think we heard the harmonica at about 11 this morning.

ps. confused about the different criteria. Surely those two have had very different careers? http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2011/apr/10/bob-dylan-china-censorship

Yes you're probably right. Interesting line from your linked article; 'His "protest period" lasted less than two years, and even then he was suspicious of leftie folkies who wanted him to be a singing placard: enter a cause, push a button, get a song.'

What Keith Flett meant to ask for was just a Freedom Pass. Bob could have qualified for this honour a decade ago - on condition that he promised not to sing on any bus or tube within the Borough borders.
