Is there a greener borough in London than our own dear Haringey?
I don't mean how much carbon we save or how many yoghurt pots we recycle (I hate washing yoghurt pots) but the sheer amount of good quality green space on our doorstep.
Within fifteen minutes' walk of our house we have (in no particular order)
* Finsbury Park
* West Green open space
* Chestnuts Park
* Railway Fields
* Downhills Park
* Ducketts Common
* Lordship Rec and woods (maybe twenty minutes actually - at least with little ones)
Meanwhile a slightly longer stroll, or bus or car journey takes you to
* Ally Pally
* Parkland Walk
* Priory Park
* Tottenham Marshes
* Queen's Wood
* Highgate Wood
* Clissold Park
and then, just beyond the borough:
* Hampstead Heath and Parliament Hill Fields
* Grovelands Park
* Broomfield Park
* Epping Forest
* Lee Valley reserve
and on and on it goes! (I've probably missed a few as well)
Can anyone compete with Haringey (and Haringey, ahem, borders') array of greenery?!
PS I know Richmond has the park. But let's face it, if you've ever been to Richmond Park you'll know that it's really, REALLY boring...
PPS PLEASE don't post comments about cuts to the parks budget, that has its own thread elsewhere!!!

As someone who is quite new to the area I have noticed this too. It is not just the parks themselves but the number of hedges and trees in front gardens which encourage lots of wildlife too, especially sparrows and blackbirds which are much scarcer elsewhere.
Whenever I map my route before/after running I can switch to the satellite view on the map and you can barely see most roads for the greenery.
That being said, London as a whole is said to be one of the greenest capital cities in the world with approx 60% of it's area being green space or water according to one source.
