Am delighted if it is really going to be a Costa. It's a good spot for a coffee shop right by the common and that use will suit the building's big windows. I imagine it might get some use from commuters in the morning too.
Hopefully they won't obliterate the architecture with massive signage as BK did...

Not sure it's bad news: as far as I know Costa doesn't sell baklava or icecream; Tugra doesn't sell patisserie or muffins. Hopefully they will be able to co-exist.
I agree. As councillors we sometimes hear the nonsense that a development is welcome purely because it is "economic activity" and "creates jobs".
The social irresponsibility of this approach crossed my mind during the current controversies about selling arms to dictators; and some of these monsters owning homes locally.
