Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I live on the ladder and wanted to find a good local yoga class to go to, not too far from home. I was really pleased when I found Julie Tortora, who runs a great yoga class for pregnant women (as well as a mother-and-baby strength class for after the birth). It's on a few times a week, run from her own lovely, calm home and just a 2 minute walk from Harringay Rail Station (on the other side of the tracks from the ladder!)

It's got me into doing pelvic floor exercises more regularly and she gives you lots of interesting positions to get into that prepare you for childbirth. I feel a bit more prepared for the big day as a result. You don't just sit there and chant for an hour, it's more about stretching and strengthening everything, as well as learning to relax!

Julie's got a website, at http://www.lifelongyoga.co.uk/ - her phone number is on the 'contact' bit of it - give her a ring!

There's nothing on her website about the cost of the classes. Do you happen to know, Mrs McF?
The classes I go to cost £11 per session. If you write Julie an email she'll get back to you pretty quickly. Good luck!
I can highly recommend Julie's classes too; am about to start going for the third time as I found her classes v helpful during previous pregnancies & births. Also v sociable too - I'm still in touch with friends made through her classes from over 4 years ago. Definitely £11 for Saturday antenatal class but I think her postnatal mother and baby classes (great too) are a little cheaper.

Hello all, I just wanted to recommend this pregnancy yoga class with Julie Tortora. I found Julie's class gave me the space to relax and prepare my body and mind for birth. I found the breathing exercises helped me through the difficult stages of labour and having space to relax and enjoy my pregancy on a weekly basis did a world of good. It's a great class for those living on the ladder as it's really close. Much recommended!

Thanks for recommending this. This is just what I have been looking for! Sally
