Front door kicked in Sydney Road (Monday 31st Jan)
Arrived home after work to find front door forced in, also garden gate missing a plank where some dirty scoundrel thieves have tried to break into our house. Presuming they were disturbed or decided there was nothing worth nicking as nothing seems to have been taken.
Hope this hasn't happened to anyone else but please be vigilant. Will have happened in daylight hours whilst at work (9.30am - 5.50pm).
Not a nice follow up to Saturday's assault in the passage.

You'll find other posts on this (doors being kicked in) here on HOL. Talking to one of the Safer Neighbourhoods Team last week I was told of half a dozen burglaries (some of those were attempts) on the ladder in 10 days. And that's just the ones they're aware of.
One or two were your end of the ladder. Vigilant neighbours called the police before much happened. So in one case the supposed burglar was warned and went on his way.
Ring Securebase and ask for Dariush. He'll pop around a assess your security situation for you. If you need anything he'll give you a price, with various options. No silly sales talk involved. Others on HOL have used Securebase and been impressed.
Burglary is on the up despite what last years police stats indicate.
