This is the picture for December 2010 for HoL local area and it is from http://www.police.uk/
"1259 crime and ASB".
Not sure what to make of it yet but thought the link worth posting.

The radio news on BBC London has been leading all morning on something like "The area around Green Lanes in Haringey is the worst for anti-social behaviour, according to a new police map..."
When I put in my postcode it said "Sorry, we couldn't find a policing area that matched your search".
Well the big blobs are I think general area - When you zoom in then it breaks it down a bit more. But still not too much so you cannot apparently identify witnesses.
I think the big "13" on wightman road is just wightman. Also look at the "huge" 13 "hotspot" in the middle of the crouch end residential area. I have always been a bit scared walking through there with my waitrose carrier bags...... (that was an attempt at a joke).
They've gone into more detail on the radio and apparently "Rowley Road" is the second worst area in the country for anti-social behaviour. (Rowley Road looks really small, so I assumed they meant Rowley Gardens, then looked at the map above where it seems to have the number 79!). Then a policeman (?) came on and said it was probably just people reporting lost phones.
I do remember looking at the old crime maps that were on here and being vaguely cheered that there was a lower level of crime in West Green than Crouch End.
Look I promise I really really *really* dont read the Mail but...

so they say Rowley Road.
But it could be associated with the Park or a bus or whatever.
Here is an enlargment from the screen grab I took this AM
It is such an outlier.
Rowley Road looks perfectly pleasant on streetview. But what happens if you have one dodgy thing in a street, though? Like a house with drug dealing that all the neighbours repeatedly report for months - would these all count as separate incidents?
I still can't get into the map; they're saying on the radio that the whole thing's gone down through overuse. (And I promise that I really, really, really don't usually listen to Vanessa Feltz...)
I notice the Mail can't spell Harringay/Haringey.
Comparing the two, the answer appears to be for some parts e.g. south of the ladder they apparently agree and both give 7 crimes. (5 in that crime hotspot cavendish road).

For St Annes and the region of Rowley Road to put it politely the figures disagree somewhat.
6 crimes on the old database

As opposed to what seems to be 96 in the same geographical area.
I love data, and I love open data. But I hate lazy journalism, and it looks like something is seriously wrong with the figures.
Imagine the time that will be wasted sorting it out. (unless santa went on a rampage or something).
