Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Does anyone recall the mechanical (possibly electrical) life size elephant that was used in the 1960's to give rides to children in Pymmes Park N18 Edmonton?

My friend talks about this but we can find nothing online - is she mad or making it up?

any references appreciated.

One of my mum's friends mentioned this, I think. I'll check with her.
Many thanks Andrew - my friend will be pleased to have confirmation as no one believes as as there seems to be no one around who remembers it. She said it was used in summer to give rides to kids and was a lumbering pretty unsafe and mangy looking thing - but she loved it. probably very exciting in the '60's!

Thank you so much - it's just as she described it! Can't imagine Health + Safety would permit it today. Have forwarded to her and link to the Thaxted video as well - she will be so pleased to have proof.

The power of HoL is amazing
