Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Local photographer Nicobinius uploaded this photo to Flickr tonight. Apparently taken two hours ago, it was accompanied by the following legend:
broken down bendy 29 - right in front of the access road to Sainsburys & the retail park - cue over 150 angry drivers stuck in said Sainsburys & retail park. Driver put it down to the bus diesel tank being empty.

Just about to go down to Sainsburys, does anyone know if it has gone?!
I'm guessing if it was just out of fuel, it should be moved by now.

Some buses are on the road for up to 20 hours.. It can happen and certainly used to happen in my days on the RMs, that if a bus was suddenly substituted for a defective one, then the fuelling process might be overlooked in the hurry.. and then it gets stuck somewhere later on.

This one didn't get far after leaving the garage..

It can happen.. busmen are human..

Good point... those hybrid 141s would have had their engines off while standing...
It is HOW many miles away from the bus garage in Wood Green? Someone's having a laugh.
What would happen in a fire?
Not exactly "Broken down" if it's just run out of diesel!! How many people would it take to push a bendy bus out of the way?...
Brilliant photo
In due course, this incident could eventually become a legend, but I think at the moment the photo was probably accompanied only by an explanatory caption ;-)

My legends are my feet.

The bus ran out of petrol waiting to get out of the traffic and I bet it had just been refuelled at Wood Green station.
