Walthamstow seeks to preserve what Harringay sold for a supermarket
Way back in 1987, Harringay Stadium (originally built for greyhound racing) was sold for development to Sainsbury's supermarket.
A couple of years ago Walthamstow greyhound track (above) closed. It too is threatened with demolition. However, there is a campaign with, it seems some commercial backing, seeking more imaginative ways to save some of the heritage.

L&Q don't seem to be an organisation that facilities inclusive and positive change, yet they have so much power in their land and property ownership to do so. If I remember correctly this organisation also owns a number of residential properties in Harringay and recently a couple of these had tenancy problems affecting neighbours and at first L&Q prolonged the problem by denying its exsistence. Head in the sand?
