Rail Misery For Haringey Residents says Report

The latest London TravelWatch National Rail Performance Report highlights the experience of passengers that use rail services in London.

Unfortunately for residents of Haringey, rail companies operating in the borough are bottom of the pile in terms of passenger satisfaction.

First Capital Connect (FCC) were the third worst operator and their result was worse than last quarters results.

London Overground had the highest percentage of cancellations and significant lateness at 2.57%, closely followed by FCC in 2nd place.

London Overground also had the lowest rate of passenger satisfaction but this is likely to reflect the closures of the route for engineering works to upgrade the North London Line. In 2nd place was FCC.

Joanne McCartney, London Assembly Member for Enfield and Haringey, said: "These passenger survey results are particularly disappointing for residents of Haringey given that many of us rely on First Capital Connect to travel into and out of central London every day."

"In a number of areas, the performance of First Capital Connect is getting worse, not better. That is not good enough."

"I shall therefore be contacting both companies to demand that they take action to reverse this worrying trend and improve their performances."
