Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Any recommendations for mending kids jeans ? My local dry cleaners do mending but a bit costly for kids jeans, sewing patches on by hand isn't that effective in my experience, and having spent some time checking out sewing machines on the web I don't think that's going to be cost effective either !

Are there local people you'd recommend for the odd bit of sewing ?

Thanks

There are two or three tailors in the indoor market at Seven Sisters (above the tube station). I don't know their prices, I'll check later today and report back. As the overhead must be less than running a dry cleaners', you may get a bargain. What repairs do you mean? Ripped knees, shortening? Can't think what other repairs jeans may need.

But if Tesco's sell jeans for a fiver, who would pay for repairs of those? Someone didn't get paid much to machine them.
Brilliant, thanks. Yes it's the ripped knees.

Price new v price of repair is exactly the issue. Even though I buy tougher, more expensive jeans for kids from H&M, they are still only £7 - £12. So £7 for a repair just doesn't work out. But I hate to bin them for want of a patch ! Doesn't feel v green.
