Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Could Council Operatives work even more intelligently?
STREET signage sometimes arouses discussion, often because there's too much of it. But are signs always placed in the most effective locations?
Stroud Green & Harringay Public Library is a little tucked away, it not being on a main road. It is however on a minor intersection, by shops, alongside a bus stop (W5) close to a railway station (Harringay) and near a big council housing estate.
Over the entrance, it says simply Public Library.
Some folk, including me, have suggested that our library might benefit from greater awareness that could be helped by a few signs in strategic locations. Where would be the best place to locate such signs? 500m away? 250m away? A block away at road junctions?
Or perhaps on the corner in the shadow of the library itself, directly alongside and pointing at the library all of three metres distant?

Your fault. I'm sure a resident of Highgate would have been very specific about where they wanted their library sign.

John are you suggesting that some LBH operatives cannot be trusted alone to perform tasks with intelligence and without detailed instruction?
In particular, are you implying that those staff who specialise in the operation of municipal signage installation* are in any way whatsoever deficient in bringing judgement as to the question of best placement of signposts?
