A long shot: I've just had to cancel a return train journey to Sheffield next Tues. I have a non-refundable ticket. On an extremely long shot, does anyone have a pressing need to be up in Sheffield next Tues?
The ticket cost was £53. Half price?

A pity. I had been thinking of making an offer for these tickets. I visited Sheffield earlier this year, liked it very much, and fancied another day trip, but had envisaged spending more than 3 hours 23 minutes there, especially in view of the total travelling time there and back being 4 hours 16 minutes (plus travel time to and from St Pancras).

Yup - it was for a business trip. If you definitely want it, I think I can change times within certain limits. (I think 19 or 20.30 trains come within the same price bracket). Let me know.

I think it could. Are you saying you want them if I can change it? I'll probably have to pay a small admin fee and obviously don't want to do that if things are definite.

Thanks for the offer - have just checked and the fee to change is £10 each way - so probably not worth it. If anyone can use the tickets with the current times, they're still available.
Anything going on the Orient Express, Victoria-Venezia Sunday-Monday next? Claus of Innsbruck has promised to knock up a bronze bust for me. 20 minutes' halt at the Hauptbahnhof there would allow for a sitting. Return - flexible.
