London METS are situated in the NE corner of our park and the New River wraps around their big field on the western and southern sides.
If anyone has contact with them they may want to know that—possibly due to a blockage downstream—in the last 24 hours the New River has risen c.10cm.
I'm told the water stinks.
If this rate of rising continues, then it risks an overspill into their baseball area:

Just been for a walk and passed the field where a game is underway.
I don't know the situation today but many years ago before it was opened to the public I was part of a maintenance crew for a stretch out from Enfield into London. Any event like this would be dealt with pretty quickly as daily patrols would have picked up any issues. I have lived outside London for many years and went for a nostalgic walk around my old stomping grounds with my son who lives in north London. This included a walk along a part of the New River. I was dissapointed with the state of the river since the public was given access.
I took a look the following day and fortunately the rising water level did not lead to an *over* spill.
However, part way along there was a clear leak from the bank side and several puddles had formed level with the baseball ground.
Along the side the fence is in either a poor condition or has been broken down.
