Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Any recommendations for underfloor insulation (non toxic/ no foam) for suspended timber floors?

I've got one quote which looks solid, however I'm keen for another, plus also keen to hear about materials you have had installed (hemp/ wood fibre etc). DiY is cheap but a necessary ventilation membrane doesn't seem fun for DiY.

Presumably it's important to get electrics (socket wires) checked first before they get buried in insulation?

Tips/ installers/ trade bodies to know about welcome.

Seems like relatively few people have had this done locally (please prove me wrong)... but a lot of heat is lost through old draughty floorboards.

Thanks in advance!

One  cheap solution to draughty floorboards and skirtings which you can fit yourself is this:

I've used it in a couple of places and it works really well.

Hi Lucia

I had rigid foam boards put in, but subsequently have regretted not looking at alternatives more carefully. I had gas pipes which ere narrower than they should have been replaced whilst the work was being done.

I also still have some draughts in my living room even though some cracks between the boards have been filled in!

I am interested to know which material you decide on..

Good luck
