My broadband (Talktalk) is really slow. My needs are few - no films, music etc. just basics. Any ideas as to a faster one?

Hyperoptic's prices seem to vary wildly. I didn't get the year free but I got the 1gb option for £25 a month. Perhaps the idea with the year for free is that thereafter the price is much higher so the company can recoup the loss from the initial promotion.

Bit late to this, but I would advise anyone thinking of joining EE to first check online reviews. Regrettably, I failed to take this elementary precaution, and thus entered into a (short-lived) association with them. Failed appointments, poor router placement causing connectivity and other performance issues, complete failure to connect my landline etc. Eventually I fled back to Plusnet.

Recently had community fibre installed. Really happy with the speed, price and customer service. Depending if it’s available on your street, they appear to complete the install in a matter of days.
