Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Homes for Ukraine - looking for a room and any connections for a refugee
Victoria, a quite delightful young lady is cat sitting for me (via trusted sitters website). Victoria is a refugee from Ukraine and is currently living in Staines under the Homes for Ukraine scheme but that is coming to an end and she has been offered a place in Brighton. She has some work in London and is looking to build on that but Brighton will be too far for her to commute. She speaks very good English. (And is great with animals!)
Does anyone know of any Ukrainian refugee help groups in Haringey? Or any organisation that is still promoting Homes for Ukraine. Any help is greatly appreciated

The council's Homes for Ukraine resettlement scheme seems to be aimed at Ukrainians already in Haringey, but one of the support workers may be able to help nonetheless:

Hugh D, hope you don't mind me crashing in on this post but I spotted your surname Dellar and intrigued to know if you're aware of any Dellars that lived in Stanley Road, N15 in 1940/50/60s time ? My parents lived in Stanley Road and moved round corner to Harringay Road. I remember as a lad visiting relatives in Stanley and a John Dellar (at least I think that is correct spelling) was often amongst the crowd. Ring any bells with you........thanks.

Nope. My dad’s family are all from the Camberwell area back in the 20s and 30s and I was always told the family could be traced back to Hertfordshire in the 1700s. It’s a very uncommon surname so I suspect we would’ve somehow been distantly related but nope. Never knew there were Dellars round here back then.
