Gladwys Gramophone Supplies and Toilet Requisites
Does any one know anything about "Gramophone Supplies and Toilet Requisites" shops trading at 122, St. Anns Road & 808, Seven Sisters Road Tottenham N15.
They traded under the name "Gladwys" with "Miss Fenn" in very small type. They were also motor coach and theatre agents!
This comes from a picture of a cardboard record sleeve probably from the mid twenties which I will try to scan and upload.
There would not have been many lady Gramophone Shop owners.

It was unusual to have record or gramophone shops owned by women pre-war.

The only record I have of 122 St Ann's Road in from the 1940 PO Directory for Yunochidza Pietro, wireless supplies dealer. (Italian Japanese? Or am I way off?)

The picture was scanned from a magazine, hence the odd look. A photograph might have been better. It is in a group showing three other female owned gramophone shops.
The note with it says It is a pre-war sleeve, possibly mid to late twenties, it does not appear in the 1927 Music Industries Directory.
The unnamed gramophone shown would have cost more than £.1.17s.6d one would think. The Itonia was a branded make of a general popular design. It was intended to resemble a much more expensive HMV design.
Perhaps she was not in business for long.
