Just wanted to say how much I had enjoyed reading "Garlick" by John Eccleston on Troubadour Publishing, I think he is a resident of this manor - I heard about the book here on HOL. It's a beautifully written reminiscence of a childhood spent in a farmhouse in Lancashire glimpsed through memories attached to a 101 objects that had belonged to the farmhouse and his parents. It is very evocative, many of the objects remind me of my own childhood, and a deeply touching reflection of the author's relationship with his parents and with the house itself.
I would highly recommend it. My copy will probably be turning up on the bookshelves of Marie Curie on GL see keep your eyes open!
