House insurance almost doubled!

Has anyone else had this happen? My renewal quote has gone up from £700 to nearly £1300 - a rise of 80 percent. All i can get out of the company is that 'methods of calculating risk have changed'...

The same thing happened to us this year and we hadn’t made any claims. I searched on Money Supermarket for another provider and we got much cheaper quotes.
