Another heads-up to opponents of the new "Strategy" of which these proposals form part.
On 4th November 2024, Haringey launched a consultation survey on what it describes as its "Safe and Sustainable Transport Strategy" on Commonplace: https://haringeysafeandsustainabletransportstrategy.commonplace.is/...
It does not immediately refer the viewer to the Paper and Order proposed, which might be thought to be misleading. It does include general, aspirational and a few particular questions which do bear on the measures proposed in the Paper and draft Order.
It is not made clear whether this is the statutory consultation on the measures already published and approved by the Council's Cabinet. If not the statutory consultation on the Paper and proposed Order - or even if it is - a cynic might think this was to get the action groups to pile on so the Council can claim recent public support for the measures in the Paper and Order.
Please do respond by filling in the online survey. Referencing the proposals now in statutory consultation where you object, such as the abolition of daily permits, is a good thing to do. It is only open to 29th November, so please respond quickly.

Given the climate emergency, air pollution and the excessive number of cars, especially huge SUVs, I welcome the proposals to increase charges for second and subsequent cars, larger cars, and more polluting cars.
