Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Another grim reminder of traffic hazards on Harringay's streets this afternoon

These photo popped up on the Hewitt Roads WhatsApp group this afternoon after local Pasquale witnessed a boy-racer driver dashing to catch a green light, hitting the bollard and overturning.

Thankfully, no one was hurt, including the driver. (However, he was apparently so embarrassed or otherwise seeking to avoid notoriety that after a quick rest sitting on the pavement, he sloped off).

Thank goodness for the bollard!

Thanks also to Pasquale for sharing the photos and for giving HoL permission to use them.

That’s so frightening, right by the pedestrian crossing.

People jump that light all the time and the scary thing is the lights on GL change at the same time without a delay. Lucky no one was hurt.

That’s not far from where another accident took place some months ago - miraculously without casualties. I hope that moron gets prosecuted and gets the appropriate punishment.

I walk up and down Salisbury Rd several times each day including in peak hours. Many of the drivers are on their phones whilst driving or waiting for the lights to change. A police blitz would be welcome.

It's a pity that there doesn't seem to be any technology available in this area that could be used to measure and prosecute for speeding, red-light jumping etc....

The bollard did its job very effectively.

...and still some people complain about the 20mph limit...
