Jashan re-opens but…

Jashan no longer sells alcohol. It’s not a BYO either. The new owners don’t want alcohol consumed on the premises… sadly had to abort a Christmas catch up there due to this new policy. A pity but respect the owners stance

Is it new owners? The same people are working there which was what threw us!
Agree it’s a shame- it was an institution wasn’t it and the menu has changed a lot too.

it's not Jashan.

Food no longer cooked fresh to order. That is a big thing.

But prices up a bit.

Menu changed. Good some of the old staff kept a job.

Seems like a pricier version of Salim's a few doors down.

The old Jashan was a special place. My mum and dad even liked it.

I dream of the chops in gravy, and the baingan bharta.

The area has suffered quite a hit for south Asian food. Sri Lankan gone, now in effect Jashan, the veg place opposite, and Indika also, which some people liked.
