Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hello Folks of Harringay!

I have just bought myself a personalised reg and applied it to my car.

Forgot to think about my parking permit! I’ve since applied for an updated one through the council site. I’m assuming it’s going to take a week for them to send me an updated one?

In the meantime I really need to avoid being ticketed! My plate doesn’t match my permit and I am reluctant to leave my old plate in my window overnight (these are quite valuable to thieves). Can someone please advise? Will I be OK or do I need to leave a note on the dashboard or what?

thank you!

Get yourself a weekly permit for the new plate or to the update permit arrives

Normally they will not issue a permit until update log book comes back

Joys of so many stunts in past years. When None living residents try to get permits

They should take into account days on old permit

Aware a growing number of personalised plates get stolen. So worth making sure they are well secured to vehicle

Thanks for the advice, Bob!

I'll be sure to be wary!

We just used daily standard permits until ours arrived!

Hi Kieran,

where do you get these from? Still not arrived and the nice lady on the phone said I should use these...then gave me no advice on where to get them other than saying “your neighbours might have some”

hahaha Yeah - we had some, but our neighbour had to borrow ours when he was waiting for a pass too! Are you on any local whatsapp/fb groups? I see people ask on there to see if their neighbours have any... and also, you can pop another thing on HoL and see if anyone has any... I can't (well I can...) believe that the person on the phone didn't say anything about even trying to order any visitor permits! What ones do you need?

Oh and yeah you can order them on the council site, but they would take a while to arrive too... so yeah, neighbours ARE your best bet!

Cool- thanks for the advice!

Was half tempted to leave my original pass on my dash with a note next to it until the new one comes! No idea how the Parking enforcers actually work?! Do they just need to see the plates match or do they scan it or what?!

It’s been 5 days now so hopefully get a call to sort it today!

How have you been doing it already? Just luck that you haven't received a fine? Not sure if they'd actually read a note on the dash... probably depends on the person hey...

I’ve been away this week looking after a family member! Just about to drive back hence the worry about getting it sorted...guess we will see. Harringay council on the phone recommended chatting with the parking attendant if they’re close and explaining. Could go either way! Hopefully not a jobsworth. Will let you know how I get on!

Traffic wardens are moved around. So speaking to one will not get possible safe reaction from others

Should keep old plates on to New permit arrives
