Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

This post is to say thank you to the gentleman with two children who intervened to prevent two 11 year old Park View students from having their phones stolen around 8am yesterday.

The boys were shaken (the mugger said he had a knife) but are ok and grateful to have been helped.

The police have been informed but if anyone saw the incident and has any additional information, particularly about the mugger's description, please send me a PM and I'll share the crime reference number.

Well done Mr Active Citizen.

My son's friend had hers snatched from her hand in an aggressive way a while ago when they were in Downhills. I'll get a description from him when he's home. It was mentioned to the police and the guards(right word?) Who were in the park at the time but nothing further happened.

I am so sorry to hear this as I passed through the park at that time. Yesterday at the same time we had bikes stolen from our building next to Chestnuts, and last week we had a spate of car break ins on Clarence Rd targeting blue badges again around that time of of the morning. In Glenwood Rd we heard of two knifepoint muggings as well as issues in Haringay Rd. Since March drug dealing and drug using has been a daily occurrence in the park, and such issues that you describe should not be seen in isolation but as part of the bigger problems.

A description would be helpful that I can share on my community group. Some of the houses bordering the park have CCTV and may capture the incident you describe.

He doesn't remember much detail because it was a while ago but he said there were 3 or 4, all black,  aged about 17-18. All wearing hoodies and tracksuits. One was tall & slim. Sorry. It's not much info.

For some reason my replies to an actual message are never attached to them!

There are a group of black teenagers regularly circulating Chestnuts and Downhills on bicycles dealing Crack and other drugs. This brings with it other crime because users are seeking ways to pay for the next fix.
