Virgin Media Box, and Router

This was left at the address and Virgin do not want it back, so if you want/need another Virgin Media set of equipment, it's yours....

I'd be slightly careful about virgin saying they don't want it back. Have you got it in writing? When my grandad died we rang virgin about taking his box back. They told us they didn't want it and we should chuck it. Two weeks later they turned up at my mum's house and demanded the box and tried to charge us for taking it. They denied ever telling us to chuck it. It was only after some very nasty arguments that they finally left us alone. Virgin are rubbish but my advice to you would be to get it in writing

Interesting, the boxes they hand out genuinely are not worth them taking back.

If you want proper control over your internet connection in your home (including the ability to turn off wifi and filter for certain devices, buy your own router and put the ISP's one in modem mode. They have much better wifi signal, much better software and last for much longer. e.g. Asus £50 Wifi router.
