Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi,

I'm a bit confused as to the advice given by gov and the local implementation re tennis. I thought that tennis was now permitted. Our local courts in Downhills Park have not reopened but people have been playing on them. They now took down the nets. I am abiding to the rules, but can't see why our family amonst each other should not play tennis. And I thought it was mentioned here in a post that the courts were to be reopened (sorry, can't find it).

Anyone knows any more re the opening of the courts or if there are any local courts open?

Thanks

A friend mentioned that the courts in Highbury Fields are open.  Courts in Finsbury Park are closed.

Bruce Castle Park courts are open and nicer. No cafe though :(

Hey Matt,

I've been struggling to find information on how to book the Bruce Castle courts - the Pavilion suggests it operates it? https://psandc.co.uk/tennis/bruce-castle-park-tennis/

Any additional information and advice would be gratefully received!

Thanks.

Seems Borough's are making their own decisions

Even though the courts have enough distances between them

Hi. I play at a club so I can't speak for public courts or how local authorities are managing them. However my club has strictly kept to the government (and LTA) guidelines, which has been a burden on its finances. As of about 3 weeks ago we were allowed to play singles, not using the clubhouse, and leaving the area straight away. As of today doubles is permitted, observing social distancing.

I have seen people playing in Durnsford Park as I've been going past. I am not sure how the booking system works at the moment or if they are observing that. It seems the cafe there is open too, probably just for take aways, so maybe you book in there.
