Not Covid related but for different issues.
A&E- Dental- ect
I read somewhere that they have green /red zones?
Hospitals like Whittington, Chase farm or Middlesex for example
Can anyone share what their experience was like?
Thanks

Hi,
We unfortunately had to go to Whittington A&E last week as our daughter broke her arm. We didn’t see any green or red zones but were met at the door by a nurse asking if it was covid related and Only when we said no were we invited inside to do our registration. I believe they take suspected covid patients elsewhere. It was very quiet in a&e and we were seen and dealt with in 90minutes total which is unheard of under normal circumstances.
I hope that helps.
Tessa
We went yesterday to the Whittington for an prearranged appointment on the paediatric ward. The ward itself had red and green zones which were for where staff had to wear PPE - eg green on the reception desk, red when treating a patient.
We were there for 3 hours and it was very quiet and peaceful . They said they’d been very busy over the weekend with children falling off their bikes though...

I've a Royal Free apt next month. I keep wondering if this is likely to be cancelled.
I’ve had an online video appointment tment with my consultant at guys hospital recently. My consultant said that I was only the third patient she saw this way as it’s all new to them in response to Covid. They are having to learn the technology quickly. Would be worth checking if they would do this. Could work if you don’t need any physical tests or examining
Last month I took my very old father to a routine but essential procedure at UCLH Westmoreland St (urology). The hospital was taking good precautions from the front door inwards: only seeing patients for essential appointments, sensible distancing/hand hygiene measures without being over the top, not allowing anyone to accompany patients with the exception of myself as my father wouldn't have managed otherwise. Everything went well and we didn't get sick!
The staff I deal with there are working from home and maintaining, if not exceeding, the usual high levels of service.
Otherwise all non-essential hospital appointments are cancelled or postponed or carried out by telephone, e.g. cardiology @ Whittington.
I had a Virtual Diabetic Clinic Last Week
Normally seen at North Middlesex
Joke was No recent Bloods was taken so was rather a Joke as hard to see Changes
Been a patent for years, so aware of what should be doing
Advised expected Next one might me another virtual , Normally seen by Doctor every six months and Nurse between. Diabetic 2 on Insulin
Was Not aware that Blood tests was not being carried out a Blood Test Centre, currently
Yes, my father isn't getting the regular blood tests that he is due but I've considered the risks (recent blood test results have been fine) and I'm quite happy with that right now.
The hospital, (Whittington) have been sending out a phlebotomist to me to take my bloods. What I've been doing is contacting other depts or specialists that I'm due to see (but will be having a phone consultation) and suggesting to them to have any blood tests that they might want from me, done at the same time.
I asked if any other arrangements possible but was invited to go to the 5th floor bloods rooms. So heading there tomorrow morning. Did you ask or did they offer?
I'm high risk and was told not to go to the hospital. Or anywhere else for that matter. I'm in full lockdown.
I was told by the nurse that the 5th floor bloods is not very busy now so you should be straight in and straight out.
Ah I understand! I'm medium risk but given I can go out it makes sense. Thanks for the reassurance, I am going now so hopefully first thing it will be empty!
